I purchased a Eureka Pet Lover's vacuum -- and loved it (initially)! We have two Golden Retrievers, and I was looking for an affordable vacuum to handle the pet hair. After using the vacuum the first week, I decided to purchase the same vacuum for upstairs because I was very pleased with the results -- at first. I soon learned that the vacuum is very high-maintenance -- and requires a great deal of servicing to keep the performance up. I was very disappointed, though, when after six months of regular cleanings, both vacuums stopped working. Eureka uses PLASTIC end caps on the brush bar -- and the plastic end caps melted in both vacuums within two weeks of each other. The brush bars had to be replaced ($19 a pop). When I called Eureka support, they admitted that this is a very common issue -- and that it will likely happen again down the road. Ugh! Never, never, never again will I buy a Eureka!

This cleaner is horrible. The first time it was used, the switch from bare floor to carpet did not work. The tools did not fit in their tool slots and kept falling out. One of the two extension wands was missing. Despite trouble shooting with the 800 number, this could not be resolved. The cleaner also had a horrible electrical burning smell. The cleaner was purchased in early Nov. 2009 and returned the first time it was used. The company was very unhelpful.

If you have pets that shed like mine, this is the vacuum for you. I found several good reviews about this vac and ultimately purchased it for around $140. It competes with more expensive brands like Dyson! And will suck the paint off a Cadillac!!!

I thought my old bagless vacuum was doing a great job until I had to buy a new one (thanks to my son breaking the old). OMG! I can't believe the stuff my old vacuum was missing! I only swept a small room 10x12 and the bag was half full! As I swept you would see tons of dirt bubble up next to where I was sweeping! I am so blown away by what I have been missing. I'm glad I bought this vacuum. I works wonderfully and I wouldn't trade it for anything!
